Tsuruoka Municipal Tsuruoka Second Junior High School

Tsuruoka Municipal Tsuruoka Second Junior High School

A school where each student is the main protagonist

To encourage active activities beyond classes and grades, and to make the school vibrant, we are creating spaces that accommodate various situations, from the entire grade-level community to small groups.

A school that is a source of pride for the community

By not imposing a sense of intimidation, and by utilizing local materials to express regional identity, we have designed it to be worthy of being a symbol of the local area. Additionally, it is designed to take into account the northwesterly winds in winter and water damage, and serves as a school that functions as a refuge in case of disaster.

Learning spaces that support the future educational environment

We have designed the traditional special classroom-type school to have a learning space that can accommodate learning based on students’ proficiency in specific subjects. We are also implementing school construction that takes into account the global environment and the philosophy of eco-schools.
