Obu Culture Exchange Center allobu

This project is a PFI project to develop a complex cultural facility that includes a library, hall, and restaurant. The business model is the BTO method, and SPC will provide operational and maintenance services for 15 years.
As the concept of the planning, we set the goal of creating a “forest where citizens can see the activities and feel a desire to participate, and where citizens are the main characters.” We also aimed to preserve the memory of the land that was once a forest of mixed trees in the countryside and create a “forest” that serves as a symbol of the local community.
Furthermore, within the park, we created a walking path called "Fureai-no-Ryu," which anyone can easily visit, and a structure that allows visitors to encounter various activities and information both inside and outside the facility. We have created a pleasant space where visitors can feel the natural beauty of the local area, with features such as a large cantilevered roof, deck terraces, and halls that utilize natural light.

*BTO (Build Transfer and Operate) method
A system where private businesses construct the facility, transfer ownership to the public immediately after completion, and the private business operates and maintains the facility.
